The Straits Times — SIT completes move, looks to deepen real-world learning
The Straits Times featured the Brain-Computer Interface research being developed at the Singapore Institute of Technology’s Punggol campus. The system uses EEG to decode imagined hand movement direction and speed, with machine-learning models being developed to interpret users’ motor intentions.
Led by Prof. Vinod A. Prasad, the research aims to support active stroke rehabilitation by enabling patients to mentally rehearse limb movements and promote brain plasticity. The system is planned for evaluation with stroke survivors at Singapore General Hospital and was highlighted as one of the research projects being developed at SIT’s Digital Health Innovation Lab.
